"This was the first guided trek for my wife and me and our second time with Gurudongma Tours and Treks. Both of us cannot say enough about the professionalism of the company and the high standards they maintain. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx This trip was a perfect balance of trekking, bird watching, history, and visiting cultural sites.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx We enjoyed not having to pitch our tent, cook meals and carry heavy backpacks. We also appreciated all the local knowledge that people shared with us. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx A great trek and everyone involved with the camp, the cooking, taking care of the horses, and the logistics worked very very hard to make it a success."

Design of Our Trekking Tours
Arunachal Pradesh is spread below the main crest line of the Himalayan divide between India and Tibet. This region comprises tangled mountain Ridges, deep valleys, dense forests, and mighty rivers. On the Northern frontier lies Tibet, across the McMohan Line – now disputed by China. The border with Tibet is approximately 1030 Kms, in length, and is neither marked, nor mutually accepted by India nor China. On the west lies Bhutan separated by a massive ridge rising to 4900 m.
These adventures have been selected by General Jimmy Singh, based on his years of experience in command of this region.
The focus of our two treks are on the Dirang-Tawang region, of river valleys and high mountain pastures, peopled by the friendly Monpa tribe with their Buddhist culture, unique agriculture, yak herding and monasteries.
The core of both these trek tours is a high altitude trek, garnished with Nature, culture and wildlife capsules. The tours takes you to the Kameng region comprising the Valleys of the Tawang , Dirang, and the Tenga Rivers.
Starting from Dirang Valley both the treks reach the Sela ridge - one each from the East and West flanks, thus encompassing the most spectacular high himalayan terrain.. You will travel to Dirang through the lush Assam Valley. From the Inner Line check post at Bhalukpong, the road winds across the Chaku Range through the cloudy Nichiphu pass to the valley of the River Tenga. Therafter it climbs through a series of hairpins to Bomdila. Crossing the pass at 2600 m, the road descends to the picture postcard valley of the Dirang River. At the head of the valley lies the formidable Sela Ridge rising upto 5300 m. The highway crosses the ridge over the Sela Pass at 4150 m, finally reaching the famous Buddhist monastery at Tawang, at an elevation of 3300 m. Beyond, the terrain rises to the Tibetan frontier marked by the peaks of Gori Chen at 6500 m and Kangdo, which rears its head at a proud 7090 m.
Both the trails partly follow the alignment of the old trade routes. Crossing over the Himalayan barriers to the idyllic Tawang Valley is a breathtaking experience, enabling you to see the entire range of flora from sub tropical to Alpine. For those not inclined to trekking, one of the trails can also be traversed by ponies. In the Dirang and Tawang Valley you will be visiting the Tawang Monastery, Monpa villages, and other cultural sites, to peep into the Monpa culture.
