Day 01: Dimapur- Khnoma village
Arrive Dimapur by air from Guwahati or Kolkota. Drive 62 kms to Kohima, 1444 m. Continue 20 kms to Khonoma, 1400 m.. This Angami tribal village, is famous for its valour and the resistance to the British expedition in 1879. Overnight stay, in village guest house.
Day 02: Khonoma Village
Explore Khonoma, and peep into local lifestyles. Your local host will take you around the village, explain traditions and customs, show you traditional attires, demonstrate cooking styles, show how they practice agro- forestry. 20 types of paddy is grown at different altitudes along with Alder trees, which provide ecological balance.
Day 03: Khonoma - Touphema Tourist Village
Drive to Touphema Tourist Village, 60 kms. 1200 m. Set up by the village council under the model village development programme, it combines modern comforts with an ethnic setting. Visit old and new Angami tribal village, museum, and participate in a cultural programme. Overnight in Naga Cottage.
Day 04: Touphema - Longkhum Village
Drive to Longkhum Village, 1600 m via Wokha 57 Kms, 1300m. Explore Lotha tribal village. Longkhum was famous as a headhunting village of the Ao tribe.Explore village, visit museum, and interact with Ao tribals. Stay overnight at village guest house.
Day 05: Longkhum Village- Mopungchukit village
Drive 30 Kms to Mopungchukit, , another Ao village, which is the centre for revival of ancient Ao culture. another Ao village, which is the centre for revival of ancient Ao culture. Enroute visit Ugma Village - The centuries old village to get a glimpse of lifestyles, Ao folklore, customs and traditions. Upon arrival at Mopungchukit, explore the village, visit community collection museum, Time-pillar, and Morungs (youth dormitories). Overnight stay at Village Guest House.
Day 06: Mopungchukit - Satakha village
Visit Ao Baptist Mission Center, at Impur, and drive 90 kms to Satakha village via Zonheboto, the headquaters of the Sema tribe. Upon arrival explore Seema tribal habitat. Overnight at Village Guest House, 1800 m..
Day 07: Satakha - Kohima
Drive 130 Kms back to Kohima. Enroute visit Chakhesang tribal villages. Peep into Chakhesang tribal culture at the Cultural research centre at Cheteba town. At Kohima stay at Hotel Japfu.
Day 08: Kohima
Kohima local tour: Visit the State Museum for an overview of tribal lifestyle. At the Handloom and Handicraft sales emporium we can do some shopping. There is a fine collection of traditional and contemporary handloom and other craft. Latter we visit the famous World War II Cemetery. This is the site where the Japanese invasion of India was defeated. Overnight stay at Hotel Japfu.
Day 09: Kohima - Dimapur
Drive to Dimapur to board your departure flight
