Day 1: New Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Reception at airport and transfer to the hotel or guest house. Overnight at hotel.or guest house
Day 2: New Delhi
Morning: combined sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. In Old Delhi visit Red Fort, Jama Masjid, drive past Chandni Chowk, visit Raj Ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. In New Delhi, visit Qutab Minar - 234 feet high tower, nearby stands the iron pillar, the Tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun, Bhai Temple, the modern Birla Temple. Drive past India Gate (War Memorial), President's House, which was once the Viceroy's Palace, Parliament House and Secretarial buildings. Afternoon free for shopping. Overnight at hotel or guest house.
Day 03: Delhi - Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur. Upon arrival check in at Alsisar Haveli or equivalent.
Day 04: Jaipur Sightseeing
Jaipur. City sightseeing, visiting the Maharaja's City Palace which now houses a museum containing rare manuscripts, fine specimens of Rajput and Mughal paintings and weapons. "Jantar Mantar" he Observatory, and drive past Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds and through the pink-rose residential and business areas. After lunch free for shopping. Jaipur is a major gems and jewlery centre. You can also shop for blue pottery, woolen carpets, cotton rugs, hand-block printed "Sanganeri" ,cotton fabrics and dresses. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Jaipur - Ranthambore
Drive to Ranthambore National Park and check in at your hotel.
Ranthambhor used to be the hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Today, it is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators in the wild. The tigers can be spotted even during the day. Ranthambore's royal past manifests itself in the picturesque ruins the dot the Park. There are lake palaces, old fortifications and a majestic thousand year old fortifications on a height overlooking the Park.
Afternoon Tiger Safari. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Ranthambore to Bharatpur
Early morning Tiger Safari at Ranthambore. After breakfast drive to Bharatpur. Check in at the hotel. In the afternoon take a bird watching trip by cycle rickshaw at the world famous bird watchers paradise - The Keoladeo Ghana National Park, teeming with 376 species of birds. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Bharatpur - Agra
Morning Bird watching by Cycle Rickshaw. Thereafter drive to Agra in 2 hrs. On the way visit Fethepur Sikri the deserted city. Check in at hotel for lunch. Afternoon visit the incomparable Taj Mahal. Latter visit the Agra Fort, an impressive cluster of palaces, fortresses and mosques. Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Agra - Khajuraho
Board train to Jhansi and drive to Khajuraho. Check in at your hotel.
